All You Need for Your Health in Seoul: Medical Korea Information Center

Hi my lovely followers!

As you know I finished my 3-month internship in Seoul and turned back to Istanbul. While I was in Seoul, I attended one of the herbal medicine workshops that was held in Medical Korea Information Center. In this blog post, I will try to inform you about Medical Korea Information Center as it will be very useful for your trip to Korea.

So, what is Medical Korea Information Center (I will use MKIC for short)?

MKIC is operated by the government and the main purpose is to give foreigners any medicine services for FREE. Yes, you heard it right. You don't have to pay for the services they provide.

Then, what are the services they provide?

  • Consultation on immigration and visa issurance: As a foreigner, you can get help about immigration and visa issues from the center without any fee!
  • Providing information on health institutions and medical services: Everything you are curious about health issues will be responded by the professional staff at MKIC.
  • Supporting reservations for medical services: You can just ask one of the staff members to reserve a medical service for you in one of the hospitals.
  • Guidance on cosmetic surgery VAT refund: What about paying less for the cosmetic surgery you wish to take in Korea? There are some tax refunds for the specific cosmetic surgeries for foreigners. If you want to learn more about it, I will put the necessary information of MKIC at the end of this post!
  • Providing medical translation support: There are lots of languages the staff members know! You can just ask your questions in the language you are comfortable with.
  • Providing tourism information (places to stay, eat, visit, etc.): Not only health issues but also touristic questions can be answered, too! All you will need is here!

You can take all of these services in English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, and Arabic. You don't have to worry about the language! And the staff is really helpful and trustworthy as they try to give their best while giving you the professional medical and legal information.
